I can't believe that my little baby girl turned 6! How oh how did this happen!
I love her to pieces~she is the one person that made me a mother. I have such a special place in my heart for her, she has such a sweet spirit. I truly believe that she came to this earth with a full knowledge of what this life is about and where she came from. She has an old soul I believe. She is such a big help and is quite the little mother in our household. She loves to play by herself but is good to share her time with her little sissy.
She is doing great in school, loves her friends, teacher and homework! She can be such a girl at times~with the rolling of the eyes and sassy-ness, but she is quick to say sorry and make it right. I can't wait to see what the next 6 years hold for her (and us!) She is growing up so fast and sometimes I just want to freeze her right where she is! She is such a good friend to me and is always looking out for her momma! Happy Birthday Chey, I love you so much and I hope that this year brings you the best it can! Keep smiling and holding that beautiful head of yours up high! Xo~momma

Today I am....
THANKFUL. I usually am a pretty thankful and blessed but today I feel more so than any other day. Don't have a reason but things have been kinda crazy in the Losey family for the past little while and I have had to practice my faith and I mean REALLY practice. Sometimes we need a little push to focus on having more faith. It's easier said than done, this I know.
I love this time of year, ESPECIALLY here in the desert because it's finally cool and the weather is amazing! This is when I get why so many people have second homes here. From about October to may it's perfect weather. It's been really cold the last couple of day, and by cold I mean it's been getting down into the high 50's, low 60's at night. I do realize that is not that cold to most people, but when you live in the desert and for the past 4 months it's been 95* and above, 60 seems pretty cold.
I am thankful for Hot Chocolate~i know that might sound silly, but the girls and I wait patiently all year for it to get cold enough for us to have our hot chocolate nights! It's a memory and a tradition that we have had for a few years and it's become more meaningful since we moved to he** and it's not always hot coco weather!
I am thankful for my amazing husband! He has been through a lot lately, good and bad, but his strength and determination is truly amazing. He has had a pretty rocky life, losing his mom at the young age of 18, being on his own and dealing with a lot of what life has thrown at him. I loved him more today than I did 10 long years ago! He is such a great dad who gets to spend a lot of time with his kids and they love it. He loves to make me laugh and always has a way of making me know that everything is going to be OK!
I am thankful for prayer~It's one of those things that you can ALWAYS do when you need a little help from above and it's a constant in my life. I have had so many prayers answered and I am thankful for each one of those and the peace I feel when I do pray.
And last, I am thankful for my 3 little stinkers! They are the joy and pain of my life! I couldn't imagine my life without any of them, they are so different in so many ways, but a lot a like in others. I love having girls, they remind me of how hard it is to be a little chick! I love my time with them at night after Codman has gone to bed and we just snuggle and hangout before they go to bed. Someday they will be my best friends, just like me and my mom! And my little baby boy! I never thought I could love a little boy as much as I do him! There is a definite difference between my girls and my boy and I love it! He is such a lover, and yet he loves his new found independence at the big age of 19 months! He is such a joy to our family and he and Shane has this bond that I can't describe, and it melts my heart to see both of them! ( and my other little stinker is magnum~our dog)~he is the best addition to our family, he is the snuggler, the protector of us, the joy when we walk through the door, and fully devoted to Shane~I couldn't ask for a better pet in our life. We love you mag!
Anyway, I didn't realize this post was going to take off like it did, but now that I am done, I am feeling ready for the day with a full heart! Try it, take a few minutes and think about what you are thankful for~then maybe your life won't seem to bad!

A few things to remember....
So my little Cheyenne is definitely growing up...her first big grown up thing would be that she has TWO loose teeth! It's funny how something so normal can make me feel like my baby is growing up so fast! She is so excited and works on getting it out everyday. She talks to me about the tooth fairy and how she is gonna bring her "a hundred bucks mom!" (yeah right!)
And the most recent was this morning when she was getting ready for school...
We were in a hurry cause I slept in (I've been working more and I'm tired!) and she was getting her "jewelry" on. She has a special necklace that we bought her at the beginning of school when she was not happy about going and missing us and wanting to be with us at home~and she wears it everyday!
So this was the conversation:
chey: "mom, can I wear my princess necklace?"
mom: "sure, honey. You don't want to wear your special necklace?"
chey: " no, I'm kinda over the whole missing mom thing."
mom: " oh! OK, that's fine (crying inside)"
chey: " I still miss you mom, I just want to wear my other one."
MY baby is growing up! I thought it was the cutest thing, but I was sad too that it's like she doesn't need me as much anymore!
Anyway, I had to document these two big things....so when she's 18 and off to college I can tell her the story and wonder where the time REALLY went!

Birthday Girl!
So today is my baby girl's 4th birthday! I can't believe that 4 years have gone by!
Look at my little red faced, dark hair baby! It's amazing to see how much they change over the years and how their personalities start to shine through! Shelby was a pretty good baby, and she was such a blessing to us. She has made my life so much fun, and stressful, and crazy, but most of all full of love. She is such a sassy girl, who knows what she wants and doesn't have much patience when it comes to waiting.
She is such a good big sister~she has truly made her little brother the tough little guy that he is today. She was always playing rough with him and pushing him over. (she still beats him up, but he loves it!) She loves being with Chey, and they are learning to be better friends. She is a pretty good built-in buddy for chey.
She is helpful and can be the kindest girl ever. She can make your heart melt, and make you cry from laughing so hard. She has definitely got a comedy gene in her.
Shelby, You are such an amazing little girl and I am so proud of who you are and what you stand for already. You have such a sweet spirit and you help me be a better mom. You are helping me be more patient, and to let go a little more. I hope you had a great birthday and I can't wait to see what this year has in store for you!
We love you so much, baby girl
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

What we do on a freakin hot day!!
It's no surprise to anyone who knows me that i really hate living here in the summer! It's too freakin' hot! When we first moved here, we found out about this fun fountain nearby! It's the best!
The kids love it, it's got that soft rubber ground, and water everywhere, even Codman loves it cause he can run around and play in all the different fountains!
Remembering....
So I remembered that I forgot to post a few things~like my 32nd birthday! It was uneventful but nice. I got my Baskin Robbins cake so I was a happy girl!
~This is my little "big" boy with his official first pair of big boy shoes! (he's only had sandals since he could walk~it's too hot for anything else)

My Little Cheyenne...
As I sit here and think about what I am going to write tears are starting to flow...My little Cheyenne is starting the 1st grade tomorrow! When she went to kindergarten I cried and thought "she's not ready" but now that she is going into
1st grade~it's hit me even harder. First grade seems soo huge! It's like "real" school, she will be gone for 6 hours and that is a long time for me. She's my baby, the one who made me a mother. I know she will do great and be amazing at everything she does, but I worry about her. I want kids to be nice to her, I want her to help the kid that is being picked on, I hope that she makes friends that are nice and that will help mold her into who she is and will be. Kindergarten was kind of separated from 1st-5th grades which is nice, but now she is part of that huge group of kids!
I wonder if I started her on her school path too early, maybe I should have waited another year before starting her. Have I taught her enough to keep her safe and strong? Will she choose the right over wrong? What will she do when kids are mean to her? Will she stand up for herself and others? Of course I want to answer correctly to all of these questions, but I don't know if I can, u know? This is where my faith has to take over~I have to know that Shane and I have taught her enough to withstand everything that will come her way in school~good and bad. She is an amazing little 5 almost 6 year old and I am in constant awe of her daily. She has such a sweet spirit, and she is always trying to take care of everybody. I have such a special spot for her since she is the one who made me a mother. We ask so much of her (not intentionally)and she is always happy to help. I know she will do great in 1st grade but I think every mom has her doubts. I know we have raised her right up to this point and now is the part where it hurts; but I have to let go a little bit more.
I love my little Chey and I have loved every minute since she came into my life. She is so much like me which sometimes makes us not be nice to each other, but I love seeing her grow into this amazing little girl.
Cheyenne, you will do great in 1st grade and I will be praying for you every minute. Be good and remember to help others and be nice to everyone( and I know you will) but don't forget to stand up for yourself when you need to. I love you with all my heart and I'm so proud of who you are! SO ready or not~here comes the 1st grade!

What we did this summer....
SO i'm not going to use a lot of words~just a lot of pictures. Basically we spent about 5 weeks up in Folsom at my moms. WE took a break from the hot desert life and had some much needed family time(and ME time). We are back and things are so great with us~a lot of changes have happened and I am looking forward to what the lord has in store for us next as a family! These pics are not in any order but we did have a blast and we miss nannie and the rest of the family very much!

Journal entry/ update....
Just a quick note to say that I am still here. It's been a busy few weeks, and I'm not in the blogging mood. I haven't downloaded pictures onto my computer which is keeping me from blogging, and i'm tired~Cody likes to get up before 7am now, which is super fun! Although I kind of secretly like getting up early, cause I get a little me time while Cody plays so nicely by himself, and I feel like I can ease into my day.
On a side note, I miss my family! A lot lately, we did go and visit for easter which was so fun. I have just not gotten used to living here in the Desert yet. I feel like I am in a bubble being so far away from my family and friends. I know it's an adjustment but i'm kind of done adjusting! One day we will live closer that I know for sure~so I will just keep waiting!
Oh, we got another puppy about a month ago. I guess having 3 kids isn't enough chaos for me. He is so sweet and definitely a puppy. The girls named him Bentley. He has been our "special" dog since we got him cause he has been sick and has had ear problems pretty much since we got him. I was ready to give him back cause I couldn't handle the emotional rollercoaster I was on. WE were going to have to do surgery but as of now his ears are all better and he is actually a normal, healthy puppy! He does has a mohawk due to the vet shaving his ears to fix the problem. Shane was right~he os our "special dog"!
Anyway, I guess this was more or less a hi as well as a journal entry. THanks for listening. I will try to post some pictures of us. The Kids are doing great~Cheyenne is starting to read which is so awesome to see! Shelby is growing like a weed~She is my little buddy during the day, and I love her constant sassiness! Cody is my sweet little boy! I can't get enough of having a son~He is one of the 3 highlights to my day!

MIA!
Let's update~shall we...
Shane~working hard as always and A LOT too. We miss him when he works from open to close. The store is doing great! Here in the desert we are having a tennis tourney in March and since Maria Sharipova is now part of Cole Haan~Shane was able to get a suite for his top clients at the tournament! And as of now~Maria is coming to his store to do a autograph/signing! So cool and all the big wigs at Cole Haan are so proud of him! (we are too!)
ME~not much with me, I am starting to get more creative in the kitchen and actually cooking! (not like I didn't cook or know how, but I am getting more adventurous, more bold). That has been fun and more fulfilling than I thought. I'm still working a couple nites a week at CPK. It's good to get out and give the kids that special time with daddy.
Cheyenne~my little (big) girl~having a great time in Kindergarten. She LOVES her teacher Mrs. Brown. She is such an amazing lady and I really love her too. She adores Chey, and wishes she could stay in her class 4ever! She is such a big help to me and is such a momma bear.
Shelby~My little sassy girl~gotta love her determination! She is the one who test my patience DAILY! She loves to love Cody and sometimes does it more than he likes. She loves to snuggle me and she is becoming more helpful~which I love.
Cody~where has my little baby boy gone?! HE is truly a toddler. He's been walking for almost 2 months now and is very good at it!He has such a sweet, calm disposition which is great for my sanity! He loves his sissy's and has FINALLY found a spot for his daddy. He now walks/runs to daddy when he comes home!
Here are some pictures of the last couple of weeks to catch you up! By the way~the weather here has been in the high 70's to low 80's! NICE HUH?! we have been spending a lot of time outside which is good for my spirit and the kids.

SNOW!!
So with all the rain that we all have been getting here in Cali, sometimes when it's cold enough it snows! EVEN in the desert! Can u believe it. These are a couple videos (for my family mainly, but feel free to watch) of the girls and Shane sledding! WE only had to drive like 20 minutes up the mountain to be in some serious snow! It was the girls first time in snow so it was so much fun!!
Here is Cheyenne going down with Shane. They had so much fun, but it was pretty cold since we are so used to the heat here in the desert. We are going again tomorrow. The girls can't stop talking about the "no" (that's how Shelby says it w/ her little 3 yr old speech~so cute).Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Holiday recap~part 2
Here are Shelby and Cody opening a present~the girls were nice to let Cody help, he LOVED the paper and tissue...
We separate the presents into every one's own pile for easy access!

The girls wasted no time! We do like to try to go one at a time~yeah right, try telling that to a 3 and 5 year old!
Swimming Christmas Day at Nannie and Papa's villa. One good thing about winter in the Desert!
Our favorite yogurt place! Mango Tango!! Our last meal before Nannie, Papa and aunt Daphne went home.
The girls wasted no time! We do like to try to go one at a time~yeah right, try telling that to a 3 and 5 year old!
I am so thankful my family was able to come and play for the week of Christmas, it was so fun, and as you can see, I had so much fun I forgot to take pictures of my family and me that whole week! (oops!) We had a relaxing Christmas day and a yummy no veggie Christmas dinner of steak, potatoes, and rolls! I am glad that the new year is here, and I look forward to a year full of accomplishments, fun times, love and laughter!
I hope you all have a happy and loved filled new year!
